Refunds

Short version: while your tag is still a preorder, you can cancel it and get all of your money back, with nothing to ask for and no reason to give.

Preorder cancellation

urSmartID tags are on preorder and ship by 1 October 2026. You can cancel any time before your tag ships and receive a full refund of everything you paid. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Stripe.

What you were charged

One payment for the tag. US shipping is free, and there is no subscription attached to the tag or to the record it opens — so there is no recurring charge to cancel, now or later.

Losing a tag is not a refund

If the tag itself goes missing, you do not lose the animal's record — the identity was never on the tag. A replacement is $5 plus shipping and keeps the same record, which is a replacement rather than a refund.
